A Very 'Hearty' Party

Such a lovely day...the sun is shining brightly... the door is wide open to invite all of you in and take a peek at Ginny's Lifestyle Crafts demo...

This month's release is appropriately named 'Sweetheart'.... we love, love LOVE this release...and really can you ever have enough hearts? We don't think so!
Look at this adorable sample using the several of the heart nesting dies...

This months club die is this layered heart...only club members could get this cutie!

After the demo we celebrated with a very hearty 'Queen of Hearts' Party...we made crowns...

Three of the sweetest ladies you'll ever meet...Bobbie, Virginia and Micki...

We also made necklaces...

Mike is always such a good sport, helping out his lovely wife Gwen...
The highlight of the day was a visit from some of our most very favorite guys ever...Theron, Spencer, Chris, Allan and Dan from Lifestyle Crafts...they took time away from their very busy CHA preparation schedule to come visit the store and say hello...
We were so excited to be the first to see the NEW catalog...NEW cutting platform... and NEW dies...including the re-introduction of some old favorite classics...

Theron is pretty excited to show off some new nesting dies...
Everyone enjoyed looking over the new catalog...

Theron debuts the new magnetic cutting platform (works in all your favorite die cutting machines) to your enthusiastic cheers of approval!

Of course there were door prizes..."King" Spencer gets ready to announce the first winner...

Assisting him is Joan and Liz...

Bobbie is happy to win and gives a hug to Chris...

So is La Verne! That Chris is one lucky guy...there were lots of door prize winners, so he got lots of hugs!

Color, Color and More Color

Saturday's ATC demo by Michele featured these whimsical stamps designed by our very own Marylinn Kelly for Rubbermoon...Marylinn is a dear friend to all of us here at Stamp Your Heart Out...she is an amazing artist, designer, storyteller and all around person extraordinaire.. We have loved Marylinn's stamps for several years, many of them can be found on our tables and stamp walls...and we were absolutely thrilled to learn about her new stamp sets!

Chairs, cats, robots, cakes, flowers, suns and moons...oh my!

Everyone LOVED these sets and they sold out as soon as Michele put them out...We all settled down and watched Michele stamp, color, cut, layer and die cut....and color some more!

Bright and colorful...you can't help but smile when you see these...

Fabulous job Michele!

All these stamp sets have been re-ordered and will be back in the store soon...

Immediately after the demo is the ATC trade...Leslie and Betty shared their ATC notebooks with the camera...

Meet Theo

We get lots of kids that come in the store with their crafty moms, and quite honestly, the majority of them get bored quickly...most of the time they are pestering mom to buy them stickers or gel pens...
So I didn't really pay much attention to Theo when he came in the store with his parents...but I soon noticed that he wasn't hanging around the sticker wall, instead he was at his mom's side, looking at stamps and papers and examining card samples closely...
I knew something was different when Theo asked me about the 'Cherish' border from Memory Box...he wanted to purchase one to make cards! Turns out this little guy is a very accomplished card maker! Say hello to 7 year old Theo...

Weekend Wow

On Saturday our very own Stacey delighted us with a demo featuring the adorable Honey Pop line from Inky Antics...featuring stamps and honeycomb paper...and the results are really, really cute!

This is a new technique for us and Stacey explained it perfectly!

It really is easy to line up the layers of honeycomb paper...

Perfect for those of you who love dimensional projects...and always a delight when opened...surprise!

Then on Sunday, Nancy made some gorgeous cards from the 'Romantique' line from Prima...lots of lovely flowers, soft pastel papers, vintage style embellishments and Nancy's attention to detail result in simply the prettiest cards ever...

My favorite is the altered altoid tin...you need to come in the store and take a closer look at this lovely piece of art...
Nancy's very clever and creative cards have lots of layers and moving parts...all are on display for you to examine more closely...

Monthly Calendar Project

Did you pick up a couple packages of the mini calendars we had in the store during the last few months of the year?...Well, I certainly did, and after gifting a few at Christmas, I found I had one set left over for myself... I wanted to do something more with the calendar than just sticking it on my computer, so my 'Monthly Calendar Project' idea was hatched...Every month I will share with you a calendar page I have created that can be displayed during that month, then later easily be changed into a scrapbook page...

I selected this really cute white scalloped clipboard to be the base of my project...this one measures 8 1/2 by 8 1/2 inches square...

Each months calendar will have a theme, and for January 2012 I have chosen Chinese New Year, which falls on January 23...Monthly themes can be inspired by holidays, vacations, special family events or other occasions that merit just a bit of special attention...Here's what I ended up working with...

The background paper, and stamped images are from my own stash, the clipboard, dragon die cut, red envelope, and punchinella ribbon I picked up at Stamp Your Heart Out...the chopstick and fortune are from my kitchen junk drawer...

Here's the finished page...I left space above the calendar to add a special photo and then into the scrapbook it goes at the end of the month...just remember to go easy on the adhesive for the base paper as you want to be able to eventually take it off the clipboard...the clip actually holds it in place nicely...

I'd love to see your calender page creations too!

We have been a huge fan of collage artist, Mary Mata, for years. We just love her beautiful collage packs, vintage image sheets, transparency sheets, ATC kits, and collage kits...all created from her own extensive collection of photographs and vintage ephemera.

So we were thrilled when she was available to fly in from the Bay Area and spend Saturday with us...teaching a class in the morning and demo-ing in the afternoon...We had so much fun!

We cut, glued, stamped, sanded, and embellished our class kits and made two cards, a tag and a trading card...Mary provided tips and techniques to allow our creative side to come out and not be afraid of trying the collage process...Everyone was thrilled with their creations...

We all learned a new image transfer technique using contact paper...

Mary had fun too, and promised to be back to teach more classes...Sign me up!

Now that the holidays are over, it is time to look forward to the 'sweetest' date on the calendar....Valentine's Day! This is by far our most favorite time of year, celebrating love and all things hearts related...

These Are A Few Of Our Favorite Things...

Today I'll share my all time favorite product ever...the 7 Gypsies Printer Tray! Here are some sample images I found on the internet...enjoy...

7 Gypsies makes several styles of the printers tray, but I especially love this original 12 frame one. It holds 12 ATC sized cards, photos, ephemera and more, and will make a real statement displayed on your wall full of your treasured artwork and photo memories. I've decorated several of these for gifts and always find it hard to part with them...

We love this new release...a bakery box, perfect for filling little candies, cookies, even soap or candles...a really useful addition to add to your collection of box and container dies... rosette die, rosettes are so popular right now, and these slightly larger dies will make rosettes that are perfect for your scrapbook pages and cards, and make beautiful package adornments. I've even made a few to hang on my Christmas tree...alphabets, four new fonts, each on a 4 x 4 die, these are idea for cardmakers....and the card and easel die...how fun display your cards with this versatile set, we think this might be the perfect gift for one of your crafty friends...

Sensational Sunday

Many of you braved the stormy Sunday to see Nancy's demo...so glad you did!

Take a look at these so sweet stamps from Penny Black, featuring 'Mimi' and friends...Nancy created the cutest cards and tags...

And ornaments, mini books, place cards, accordion cards, folding cards and more...One of my favorites is the folding snowflake ornament, which is surprisingly easy to make.!

Nancy also showed you how to make an adorable hanging calender featuring Graphic 45 paper and 2012 calender stickers from SRM...you could quickly make several of these thrifty projects for those last minute gifts we all seem to need...for bunco groups, teachers aides, co-workers to name a few...

Here are the pictures of the cards created in Barb's 'Quickie Stickies' class. So beautiful, and made from one large sheet of Penny Black stickers...

With the addition of a bit of stamping, ribbon, creative cutting and layering, students made 6 of the loveliest Christmas cards I've ever seen...these are going to be hard to part with!

ATC Trade Fun

The ATC trade on Saturday featured some of our favorites from Red Lead Stamps...we just love their sweet vintage images...Michele shared her skills in turning these wonderful stamps into fabulous Artist Trading Cards...

Red Lead and Rubbermoon stamps...great for ATC's as well as cards and tags...

Getting a close up view of the details in putting these little treasures together...

We welcome new trader Ana... Dorothy and Ana are looking over their ATC binders. Ana's beautifully decorated ATC binder was a hit and was passed around for all to admire...

Several traders couldn't make it to the store so we happily traded for them!

Our trades are always energetic! Carol and Wendy are sharing their binders...these gals make beautiful ATC's...always hard to choose which one!

We had such a great time at our Holiday Open House on Thursday evening. Thanks to all our dear friends who enjoyed the make n takes, demos, sweet treats, tons of give-aways, good company and our beautifully decorated store...

The Christmas tree in the store window is adorned with vintage tin toy ornaments...Next time you are in the store, please take a closer look at this incredible tree decorated by our very own Marilyn Pace (the genius behind our window displays) This tree is my all time favorite!

Weekend Wrap Up

Well... the weather outside may have been frightful, but inside the store it was delightful...a wonderful weekend of great demos to spark your creativity...

Saturday Barb dazzled us with tons of terrific tags, featuring these beautiful stamps from Lockheart Stamp Company...She watercolored, sparkled, glittered, embellished, layered, and more...these lovely tags deserve a closer look, so next time you are in the store please check them out.

On Sunday I demoed the lastest Jumbo Cling stamps from Stampendous...these are so much fun and because of their large size, card making is quick and easy!

I love Tattered Angels spray and use it generously to color white and cream paper for stamping... and new limited edition holiday colors are available now....

New from Stampendous are thick embossing powders, super sparkling glass glitter and mica flakes. These great products make it really easy to add shine and sparkle to your projects. These are sooo pretty!

And they're here....Tim Holtz's NEW Distress Inks limited edition holiday colors in Evergreen Bough, Iced Spruce, and Festive Berries...wow, these are great!

We have a pile of them now, but they are going fast!

Going Batty

On Saturday, Ginny 'treated' us to another fantastic Lifestyle Crafts demo...no tricks here, just an hour of paper crafting fun featuring the "Be Splendid' release of holidays dies...

The gingerbread house die...Ginny cut the snow frosting from white felt...

One of our favorites is the santa and sleigh die...Ginny made an adorable tag with it...

A belly band die is the perfect layering piece for the snowflake border...what a perfect way to snazz up a gift box!

This frilly tag is soooo pretty...

The reveal of the October club die.... is this very cute bat!

Ginny's project features the bat decorating a soda bottle...using a belly band cut out as the base on the bottle and embellished with the bat, a stamped tag, a paper straw and a bit of ribbon. This is a quick and easy project, perfect for a last minute halloween treat!

The POWER of PINK

What do you get when you have a gathering of over 200 women (and a few men)...

Over 100 auction items...

Heartfelt speeches of love, support, encourgement, and stories of survival...

Delicious food...sandwiches and potato salad generously donated by Geno and Diane Elias from Tony's Restaurant...

Ice Cream donated by Bert and Rocky's in Claremont...pink of course!

Scarves...over 900 of them knitted and crocheted with love...mostly by members in our community... to be given to women in treatment for breast cancer at several local hospitals...however, we received scarves from as far away as Connecticut, Iowa and Arizona!

The Power of Pink Party!...our 6th annual event that celebrates survival, educates, and raises funds for the immediate needs of breast cancer patients at Pomona Valley Community Hospital.

These girls were nominated for wearing the most pink...

Thank You...to all of you who participated in this truly wonderful event. This year YOU raised over $2,500.00 that will be given to the Breast Care Fund at Pomona Valley Community Hospital. Our best year to date! Kudos to Michele Daly and of course Joan Bunte...whose jester hat should really be a crown...Thanks for making this wonderful day possible...

Laurie Garcia created chunky and bold soldered jewelry that is fitting for the season. It was impossible to choose which one was my favorite design because I loved them all...so did everyone else, because before long the table was nearly empty!

Laura Palm's table was stuffed full of one of kind original watercolors, prints, cards and the most wonderful stitched work on vellum...such amazing detail and so unique! These didn't last long either...

Looks like Michele found something she had to take home...

Sneak Peaks for You

Joan and I attended a retailer event over the weekend and we ran into our friend Sally Traidman from Hero Arts. Sally showed us how to use the new stamp/matching embossing folder sets that we will have in the store soon and will be featured in a demo next month...

So easy to use....first stamp your image on white paper, then ink up the matching embossing folder using a shadow ink...

Place the stamped image into the embossing folder matching up the design and run it though your die cutting machine...

Voila! A beautiful stamped and embossed card in just a few easy steps!

Sally decorated a little tree with some of the new images...most of these 'ornaments' are gift tags!

And our very own collage couture queen, the fabulous Julie Nutting, was demoing Ranger Products... and she brought along some of her newest art to share...aren't these beautiful...

Tim Holtz papers and Claudine Helmuth paints are featured in Julie's 'fashionista' dolls...

Cards for the Troops update

Take a look at this...

A huge box of cards that Barb is ready to send off for our Cards for the Troops drive...she has managed to stuff 329 cards in this box which brings our total to date of 508 cards...halfway to our goal of 1,000 cards by the end of December...
From now until the third week of October, we will be collecting general greeting cards, birthday cards and the much needed holiday cards...Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and New Years. Barb is shipping those off on October 20 and we want to see the red bucket in the store overflowing! Thanks so much for your support and generosity...

We love the 4th Saturday of the month because that is when Ginny demos the lasted release featuring Lifestyle Crafts dies...We saw these dies earlier this month when Theron from Lifestyle Crafts was at the store during Shop Hop...and today Ginny adds her special touch to these must have dies...sets of nesting squares, circles, ovals, rectangles and more...so perfect for cards, tags, scrapbook pages and more...just imagine what you can do with these!

I popped into the store on Sunday and found this cozy little group...who were paying close attention to Nancy's demo...

She featured these adorable stamps from one of our favorite newer companies, 'Red Lead'...

Their size lends them perfectly to greeting cards, tags, and Artist Trading Cards...as well as Nancy's clever boxes, mini albums, and folding cards...Every stamped image is carefully cut out, expertly colored, and glittered beautifully.....

This box is sooo lovely...the detail Nancy adds to her projects always amazes me...She carefully and thoroughly explains each step...

Six Wonderful Years!

It is hard to believe that six years ago this month we started our monthly ATC trade. Under Michele's expert guidance this amazingly fun and creative monthly adventure has grown dramatically over the years...we started with just a few traders and today we host 25 or more in the store for a technique packed demo followed by a rousing trade. Some of our traders come early in the morning and stay all day, enjoying the store, the fellowship of other traders and a nice lunch in the village.

Michele is the 'queen' of the ATC trade and has a lovely crown to prove it!

Michele demos the newest from Graphic 45...'School House Primer. ..wonderful papers, stamps, embellishments and chipboard...

Here are Michele's ATC creations from this fun line...so vintage...lots of layers, embellishments, and bright colors make these ATC cards spectacular...

We had a blast at our Tropical Splash Party on Saturday...Ginny started the afternoon with an amazing demo featuring the latest Lifestyle Crafts release...we decked out the store in Hawaiian theme, lisened to Aloha music, and snacked on delicious fresh pineapple and macadamia nut cookies, and sipped Hawaiian punch...we loved that some of you showed up in your snazzy island attire...

Ginny shows us how to layer, ink and add just the right touch of ribbons, clips, and tags for the perfect project...

A fun photo opportunity...our very own palm tree...

A special treat at this demo was a cute free make 'n take featuring the flamingo and umbrella drinking straw ornament. You all seemed to love this one!...Wouldn't this make an adorable party decoration or hostess gift?...

And of course the highlight of the demo was the reveal of the July Club Die Kit...all we can say is WOW!

We love ATC Saturdays...full of fun, friends, amazing ATC artwork, and of course yummy snacks. Sometimes it gets a bit crazy, but we always have a wonderful afternoon...our loyal traders come as far way as Long Beach, the San Fernando Valley, and other points beyond...we thank you for dealing with 'Carmageddon' and coming to see us...

Michele starts the afternoon with a demo...Saturday's demo featured a very fun line of cowgirl themed rubber stamps and collage paper from Tweety Jill...

We love how the twine adds just the perfect amount of interest to these great ATC cards...

As you might know, we are collecting cards to send to our troops serving overseas... they in turn will use these cards to send out to their loved ones back home...we have a big red bucket in the store that you can drop your donated cards into...all cards are gratefully accepted, however holiday themed cards have a due date...we have more detailed information about this wonderful program in the store...

We would like to thank you very much for all your support in the "Cards for the Troops" project...The first shipment consisted of over 120 beautiful cards, lovingly made by you, our wonderful customers...Thank you so much!...We would love to see the bucket full of Halloween and Fall themed cards (before September 12th please), but of course all cards are welcome...this project is especially important to our own Nancy and Barbara, both have sons serving in active duty...

We had so much fun with our Red, White, and Blue Challenge last month...thanks to all of you who participated...your creations were fabulous and all received hearty compliments from employees and customers alike...

And in celebration of National Paper Bag Day on July 12, we want to see what you can do with this...a plain 'ol paper bag...Yep, it is a paper bag challenge!

Big or small...kraft, white, or colors...gusseted or flat...

We want to see your creations! You can paint it...stamp on it...cut it up...die cut it...

Will you make a banner....

or a scrapbook...

or even a giant flower...

It's up to you...just have them in the store by July 25...remember all entries receive a small gift from us and will be on display in the store for all to admire...

We hosted a little party for our dear friend Lois on Wednesday...complete with family, friends, yummy cake and of course a snazzy crown for the birthday girl!

Lois said she turned '39', but the cake says '85'! Hmmm...

This week we received a shipment of new Cat's Life Press stamps...These are Ginny's favorites...we love them too for their whimsical graphics and clever sayings, perfect for card making, decorating envelopes, ATCs and journaling...

A new release of craft dies arrived in the store last week from Memory Box. This second release of dies is called 'Butterfly Orchard', and predominately features floral and butterfly images, in addition to some lovely background and border dies. We are all impressed with the quality, design, and amazing detail of these dies. They cut easily and cleanly in your favorite personal die cutting machine...these 100% steel beauties are made in the USA!

Happy Flag Day!

Today is National Flag Day. This commemorative day, celebrated on June 14th, recognizes the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened the same day by resolution of the Second Continental Congress in 1777. Then in 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially made June 14th, Flag Day and was further established in 1949 by an Act of Congress...

We certainly have the most beautiful flag in the world...

Fantastic Folds and Classy Couture

Did you make it into the store on Sunday? We sure hope you did! What a great day...first starting out with another amazing demo by Barb featuring her signature folding techniques. There is just no way the camera picks up the depth and intricacy of these beauties. Please come in and see them for yourself...and be sure to ask us which flowers were made from a balloon punch!

In the afternoon our dear friend Julie Nutting stopped by for a book signing and art show. We are so excited that Julie's first book, "Collage Couture, Techniques for Creating Fashionable Art", is published and we have them! This lovely book is pure eye-candy...full of inspiring and clear instructions and illustrations, including paper choices, background ideas, sketching basics, color suggestions and more for you to create your own fashionable 'girly' art. This mixed media book is unlike no other, and it will quickly become one of your favorites...

And a special one of a kind bookmark fashioned in Julie's style is a gift to you with purchase of the book. Thanks to Marilyn for another wonderful creation!

Sunday's demo featured the latest and greatest from Memory Box. This company has been a long time favorite of ours, we have always been charmed by their classy stamp designs and lovely papers, always top notch products. And now Memory Box has their own line of craft dies!

Our Weekend

Wow, another busy weekend at Stamp Your Heart Out...demos and classes for everyone, new techniques to learn and new products to see...here is a re-cap for you...

On Saturday Ginny showed us the newest stencils from Creative Imaginations...large and small stencils used with the shimmery Radiant Rain paints as well as chalks, inks and twinkling H2os... to make beautiful background papers, cards and of course our favorites...tags!

Such pretty colors of Radiant Rain...

Great selection of stencils...flowers, birds, swirls, even a mermaid!

Using stencils on patterned papers give extra depth to the designs...

So pretty...Thanks Ginny!

On Sunday Barb taught her very popular 'Men's Cards' Class. I snuck in the classroom and took some pictures to share with you...
